New York, Christmas, 2010

New York - possibly the most famous city on the planet. I visited the city for a family Christmas in December 2010 and had a truly wonderful time. Around every corner there was a new joy to behold - a scene known from a movie, wonderful delis or diners or some street scene that just held you captivated. I have been back twice since, for work, but I do not know when I will again be able to visit that incredible city.

New York is now a city in trouble - a trouble shared with the rest of this world. A virus, a terrible, debilitating virus, is wreaking havoc across the planet. This virus cares not for your religion, the colour of your skin or your sexual orientation. It knows no borders and is wreaking untold pain and misery.

New York will get through this, the world will - but not without a cost and not without the efforts of us all. Please, listen to the best advice, do not think you are untouchable.

New York, once again, the world is with you. You gave me memories I shall cherish forever and my thoughts are with you.

These images are from many years and many cameras ago - nothing fantastic, merely personal memories from a special time.

Stay strong, New York.
